Autumn Fashion Photoshoot
Updated: Oct 15, 2019
I woke up on the Sunday morning of the shoot, made a coffee & glanced out the window to be graced with moody clouds and drizzle (that Northern Ireland drizzle) that soaks everything over time.
I guess today I will be testing out the #fujifilm x series cameras & lenses in the rain for the first time in 5 years.
I am a creative off camera lighting type of photographer so this would work well with the location I have planned the shoot around, under a canopy of trees in a wooded area in #stormont estate in East #Belfast, UK.
I arrived on location, the rain had turned into a sprinkle and the light levels improved some helping to keep my ISO levels down on the images, not that I am too worried with the performance of the XT3 & noise. Our first spot was quite dark so I set up the light and choose a good spot for the model, I decided that I wanted to go a little wider on the shot below & this would cause issues with my light being in the picture so I set up the ambient exposure and took a shot.
I then added the light and model into the image knowing I could blend both pictures and erase the light/stand from the end result.
The XT3 with 56mm 1.2 & 90mm held up well in the rain & lower light without going over ISO 500 (fast primes for the win). The lighting I used on this shoot was the
#godox AD200 portable strobe,
#westcott Joel Grimes RapidBox BD &
#Neewer 43” umbrella style Octabox.
